Rural Crafts

Gardening, environmental and craft activities in a relaxing, safe and supportive environment for  people with mental and emotional health needs.

Gardening and spending time out of doors enjoying the natural environment can reduce stress and anxiety levels and improve confidence, and well-being. The group grows flowers, fruit and vegetables for their own use and in winter make various crafts, such as pressed flower cards or Christmas wreaths.

No previous experience in gardening is needed, as each group member works at his or her own pace, and there are plenty of breaks for tea, chat and making friends. The group has a large garden, wildlife pond, greenhouses, a potting shed and tool shed, and a covered area and meeting room.
