Representing ECHO Participants

There are 10 Rep Group members, who are elected by the ECHO participants. We meet every week and help to run ECHO. Working with the staff and trustees we make sure ECHO activities are good quality, and meet participants needs. One member of the Rep Group is also a Trustee of ECHO.

We belong to the 'People's Union', and work closely with Herefordshire Mencap. We keep up to date with what's happening in Herefordshire, and in the whole country. This helps us to understand how things effect the lives of our participants, and helps us to be better representativies.

Speaking up for ourselves and others helps us to feel more confident and in control of our own lives. Then we do a better job for ECHO participants.

Rep Group Elections 2012

It's time to find new people to stand for election to the ECHO Rep Group. The Reps are all members of ECHO and were voted for by the other participants. It's our job to stand up for ECHO participants and make sure their views are listened to. We help to run ECHO and make sure that it's good quality.

As a Rep you will need to come to our meetings on Friday mornings from 10.00 – 12.30 at the ECHO office in Leominster. ECHO can help with transport if needed. We work for an hour, have a coffee break and work for another hour. It can be hard work but it's great fun.

The Rep Group work all year round with 2 weeks off at Christmas and Easter and 4 weeks off in August. We start meeting again in September.

There are 3 places to be filled in this election. The people who are elected will be on the Rep Group from September 2012 until the end of July 2015, unless they want to stand down before then.

If you think that you want to take part in the election, please fill in the Candidates Reply form below and send it back to us at ECHO.
